Malerin Würzburg

I work mainly with acrylic paints, but also embrace experimentation by mixing wax, sand and paper into my works. For me, painting is constant evolution and a journey of discovery. With an education in graphic design, true-to-life drawing, formal painting and concrete art, my current work is leading me on a path of more intuitive expression.

With my recent works I find great satisfaction working directly with my hands, but also use stones, rags, sponges, foils and many other commonplace objects. The complexity and structure that distinguish me as a person are reflected in my art.

I studied in Montreux and Los Angeles, and have lived and worked in New York City, Amsterdam, Antwerpen and Berlin. My international experiences and my travels, as well as hardware stores and extraordinary culinary recipes are a never-ending source of inspiration for me. The many years I’ve spent abroad have enriched my outlook, both professionally and personally. Getting to know a wide range of cultures has been invaluable to me. As I generate ideas and develop concepts, I can draw on my in-depth knowledge of design and art history, and yet I always discover new things in the process..

I belong to the first generation of multimedia designers (digital revolution and film animation in the early 1990s) in the USA. At the same time, I have a deep understanding of core craft design concepts, such as typesetting, typography, and color theory, which are often no longer taught in the same way today.
